Jason Lee

Born in 1985, Jason graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 with a Diploma in Visual Communication (major in Photography Design). He started out photography during his secondary school days. From then onwards, he began to develop interest in other forms of visual arts along his passion in photography.

Underground counterculture made a huge impact on Jason as a person. Most of his works were conceptually shaped by elements of such alternative cultures. Heavily influenced by art / B-grade films to punk, experimental, and noise music, he is also an active participant of local independent punk community. In addition, he runs an independent zine called Awareness, which dissect an amalgamation of underground music, arts, unorthodox ideas and critical issues.

Jason had previously participated in group exhibitions. As an experimental and conceptual artist, Jason believes that creating a piece artwork, besides expressing thoughts, is a way of instigating controversy and making a platform for viewers to question about it.

Thomas Vionny Kasim (Gisela Sim)Highly motivated and goal-oriented with commitment to pursue a long-term profession in creative industry area, Gisela was born in 1983, Indonesia. Arts and photography are her main passion. Upon having the opportunity to move to Singapore, she decided to study photography. She graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 with a Diploma in Visual Communication (majoring in Photography Design). After completing her diploma, she decided to further her studies and was graduated with a Bachelor degree (Hons) in Fine Arts from University of Huddersfield (UK) in 2007.

Gisela did numerous conceptual photography projects and participated in several arts exhibitions. She also enjoys experimenting with medium and conceptual ideas.

Gisela is currently a freelance photographer and a part-time lecturer at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Being in the teaching profession has always been her ambition and she hopes to impart her knowledge as much as possible to her students.
